"forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us"

I grew up Methodist and we said trespasses. Now, I'm a Presbyterian and we say debtors.

Both churches end with for thine is the kingdom, power and glory forever.

"Debtors"

but it's funny to me when I'm saying it in a group setting and have to wait for the others to catch up at that juncture

I do the same thing.

It sounds like a bunch of snakes hissing.

And I'm immature enough to snicker sometimes and get a reproachful nudge from Mrs. T in the middle of church

Pretty sure that's how Californians say it

Minessota Lutheran, we were the "trespasses" and "thine......forever and ever, amen" bunch.

Went to an Orthodox Church for a while and we said trespasses, "thine is the kingdom, the glory, the power, now and forever", and we also said "and deliver us from the evil one" not "from evil". I've noticed that difference with my wife's catholic services. Orthodox cross themselves backwards too.

Debtors cuz I was raised on KJV.

Debtor is a more word-for-word translation while trespass is probably a more equivalent translation.

I grew up in the Presbyterian USA Church. Our version was:

"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever."
