It's a very nice hotel that location-wise makes not one iota of sense.

I've stayed there. it's nice. Wouldn't go out of my way to stay there if I was headed somewhere else, but it is probably the nicest place to stay without going to either Jackson or Memphis. Restaurant there is good, but I prefer to walk down the street to Delta Bistro when I'm in town.

I've never stayed at the Alluvian itself but Giardinas is my favorite place to eat when in Greenwood. I enjoy the private booth dining and I will one day figure out how to make their Delta Delight.

It's tied to the guy who owned Viking (Fred Carl I think). He's from Greenwood and it's based out of there. So definitely odd on the surface but makes sense when it comes down to that.

It's a nice hotel to stay at if you're coming to town or passing through. Giardinas has some great food. Delta Bistro,Crystal Grill, and Luscos all in the downtown area also have some good food. There's about 2 blocks of restaurants and stores around the Alluvian that's really nice and has that old southern town feel. Then you walk a little further south and you better have a gun.

Yeah you don't want to venture too far out from there. You want to stay on the other side of the river where they filmed The Help.

I had also heard of Luscos. Sounds like I can make a day of it in Greenwood

Is there a reason all this nice shite is in this town? How is it still here? I presume this town's heyday was all in decades prior to 1950s

It just seems like something doesn't add up

Greenwood is a great weekend getaway town. Stay at the Alluvian and attend a Viking cooking school class.

Eat at dinner at Giardina's and Lusco's, lunch at Crystal Grill, and drinks at Webster's.

The Cotton Row club is pretty cool if you know a member.
