Very sad. By all accounts, he was a great and passionate person.

I remember it too. I was hungover laying in bed after my first Ole Miss game as a freshman. Also had a $300 bar tab the night before and went through it like an idiot.

Can't think of anyone off the top of my head who loved their job more than Steve Irwin. The man was one hell of a great teacher and left the planet in much better shape than he went into it.
One of my favorites is when Steve was nearly mauled by multiple by a bunch of Komodo Dragons. Steve's response: Holy smoke! That was too close!.... Let's follow em.
