Tell me about Greenville/Spartanburg, SC

I'm leading a committee to explore possibilities for a new location for our company. An influential exec has ties to the Greenville/Spartanburg area and that has emerged as a frontrunner, but I'm skeptical.
I won't go into detail on the "why" behind these, but our requirements are:
Not in the Central time zone.
Low cost of living.
Small chance of disruption due to inclement weather or natural disaster.
Large Christian (conservative/evangelical) population.
No large metropolitan cities.
Others on the list are Chattanooga, Colorado Springs, Billings MT, Raleigh-Durham, Salt Lake City, and Indianapolis (those last two are a little on the larger side for what we want, but could still work).
So, what can you tell me about Greenville/Spartanburg? Is there a city not on my list that you would recommend based on the requirements?

Greenville/Spartanburg is your best bet based upon your criterion ... and I'm very familiar with every city on your list with the exception of Billings, Montana.
But Greater Greenville/Spartanburg is diverse and, depending upon your industry, you'll want to choose your location (within the area) wisely.
ETA: You might also consider the Florence, SC area.
Either way you cannot go wrong.

I think you should look seriously at:
Greenville TN
Apopka FL
Valdosta GA
Morganton NC
Sopchoppy FL
Greenville NC
All meet the criteria and are BORING AS frick, sort of like your list.

Rooster is pretty spot on in his analysis I-85 runs right through there for logistical purposes as well. On the biased side there is a bit more of the tater population there as a talent pool in general, but hey I really hate that breed of people could be just me.

Seems like a better option IMHO as logistically it has better inter and intra state options. It grabs that goldilocks type area that you are describing and has slightly less severe weather on a regular basis, save a hurricane landing right on top of you.
Further inland you also have cities like Aiken and Orangeburg that may be worth a look, but those seem to be more lower class areas IMO.

Greenville is a great city, honestly. Spartanburg sucks. My wife is from Spartanburg and we both hate visiting there, it's just boring as shite. Greenville, though, is a pretty cool city and it seems very well run. The Downtown area is really nice and well kept and there's a lot do. Very conservative area, which seems to fit your criteria.
Raleigh-Durham probably isn't for y'all, though. From my experience, it probably has a lower than average Evangelical Christian population than most places in the South. It is a very educated populace in the triangle which usually contradicts the religious fervor associated with the Evangelical movement. This, probably my favorite city center in the Southeast.

Boom, the new spot will mostly be a call center. I run our software department so I'll be staying put, but if I were going, Billings would be at the top of my list. I love Montana.
