You can be tormented and a person unworthy of sympathy. They aren't mutually exclusive.

Yet, he was given every opportunity to walk away from that life. He had money, had a way to "get out" with his talent, and pissed it all away.

The only people I feel sorry for is the families of his victim (potentially plural) and his daughter.

ETA: I'm also not real sure he killed himself either.

No sympathy but I take strong offense to people saying "I'm glad he killed himself".
