Fayetteville Whole Foods has sushi chefs working most of the day. Everything I've ever gotten from there has been fresh and top notch. Limited selection compared to restaurants, though. I recently discovered seaweed salad at Shogun.

I've even eaten it from WM Neighborhood Market. Not so great, but cheap and edible.

Gross.

Are you under impression that your sushi in Houston at HEB is better than mine?

Does Houston have HEBs?

I've actually has some solid sushi in the RGV believe it or not.

ETA: keep in mind that I'm allergic to shellfish and most sea fish. My opinion is of course limited to those who have good veggie shrimp.

LeBlancs in BR suburbs. They hire Japanese dudes and roll fresh sushi all day. It is awesome.

Central Market. I'm assuming it's the same quality as HEB as long as it's fresh. If you're in Dallas/Plano, Eatzi's also has really great sushi as well.

Harps in Fayetteville has decent sushi and the one on 265 sells sushi grade tuna to make your own.

The Brookshires in North Mecca has good sushi. I always get them to make me a fresh roll though. Definitely worth checking out imo

I know we're talking about grocery store sushi here, but Uchi is freaking AMAZING.

Just wanted to let the board know. If you're ever in Austin, Houston, or Dallas, check out Uchi.

Actually, don't. it might ruin all other sushi for you for the rest of your life.

Sushi yu up next to highlands and the mall?

I forgot you were in kennesaw now. Should grab a beer sometime

Eta: kuroshios has some pretty good sushi for kennesaw as does volcano (50% off rolls all day Monday) and they are very good as well. My favorite outside of Atlanta is Thaicoon on the Marietta square. Inside the city it gets more expensive obviously but Tomo is really good and probably my favorite.

I only eat veggie sushi, but my local Kroger has a sushi bar...you can tell the dude what you want and he will make it right there for you.

I don't eat sushi, but have seen a sushi chef, while at Kroger, in Midlothian, VA. If I ate it, I would trust that.

for sure I'm always up for a beer. I think the only thing i haven't found yet that I really want or need is a good cigar bar
