I think most southerners know of and appreciate Marshall tucker band.

Staind got their 15 min when they came out with that slow song back in the day; and judging by it that seems like all they deserve.

how is CCR on this list?

Growing up we had pasture parties and MTB and CCR, etc. were always playing. So in my experience they aren't, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I dont think people realize that Prince is one of the moat talented guitarists in the world; mostly people know three or four of his songs, but you can listen to nearly all his albums from beginning to end and enjoy it.

Ask 100 people to name a Marshall Tucker Band album or two songs. 15% or less could do it. An almost completely forgotten band

I love Prince, but I think he gets about as much hype and adulation as any artist I can think of.

Freaking love both of them. I'd add Don Williams and Dwight Yoakem.

Vern's Chiseled in Stone is the saddest song ever recorded.

Solid list, I'll add-

Little Feat
Blitzen Trapper
Mofro
Drive-By Truckers
Pure Prairie League
Shovels & Rope
Glossary
Anders Osborne (new album with North MS Allstars is great)
Band of Heathens
Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires

Tons of solo guys like John Moreland and Isbell (who'd be lyrical heavyweights in any generation)

they've been playing shows for what 30 years now in Alabama and the surrounding area?

They came to Supper Club just about 3 weeks ago if I recall correctly. I love when they show up in Auburn

Not entirely. I love a pretty wide range of stuff. The only stuff I don't really like is pop country and pop rap. I Have never heard tool before and have a preconceived notion of what kind of band they are and I don't like that notion.

Dear God, man. You will probably love them. Danny Carey is a top 2 rock drummer imo.

Saw them play dozens of times all over Alabama, Chattanoga, and PCB. Not because I thought their music was that great, but I almost batted 1.000 with the ladies when I went to a show of theirs.
