Because like meatpants said, if the FB team gets involved, they will fold just like Mizzous admin. You see, at the end of the day the almighty dollar rules. And canceling a game would cost the university too much $$$ duh!

Nope. At weak, Yankee schools maybe.

Never a school in the South.

STFU.

Bet we don't embarrass the SEC the way y'all did.

This shite is y'alls doing, anyhow.

ETA: I'd say the way your state handled Ferguson is akin to how your school handled your protest.

SC, on the other hand, handled a massacre with no violence or protests and our school will do the same with this.

It's silly that you keep ignoring the similarities just to protect this ideological view you have of the South.

There were white people supporting the protests at Mizzou as well.

What is it that they are asking for in their demands, that people are upset about?

quote:

Abbreviated List of Demands

Acknowledgement of USC’s slave history by including it in the historical portion of tours and adding plaques/markers to buildings constructed by slaves, and raising the plaque for the AAAS Tree to increase its visibility.

Expansion and improvement of minority recruitment efforts and creation of a minority scholars program through the Honors College.

Policies and accommodations for trans students including gender neutral housing and restrooms and streamlined process for changing gender markers and names within university databases and records.
University acknowledgement of gender identity and expression as a protected class under Title IX.

Investigation into the following university administrators: the Executive Assistant to the President for Equal Opportunity Programs, the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Academic Support, Student Life and Development, and the Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice Provost and Dean of Students.

An increased budget for the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.

An increased budget for the Counseling Center so that there are more available appointments and more free appointments provided to each student.

Creation of an intersectional diversity training provided by Office of Diversity and Inclusion that is mandatory for USC faculty and staff.
Transparency campus-wide through collection and visibility of data in relation to admissions/enrollment, campus sexual assault/rape/sexual harassment, and hazing.

A Social Justice minor/cognate allowing students to academically study intersectional forces of injustice and the solutions to these issues.

Renaming of the Office of Student Disability Services to the Office of Accessibility and Accommodation Services, and increased visibility and promotion for the office.

A plan to make USC Homecoming more inclusive to reflect and celebrate the diversity of our campus, our alumni, and our community.

Nothing seems outrageous to me, though #5 is vague.

Yes!

Lol... I 100% knew that the narrative would change from "This would never happen in the South!" To "This is Mizzou's fault for not knowing how to handle their blacks!" I mean I fricking knew it.

Wait till after tomorrow to be so sure. We won't have a shite show. We won't have a football team that refuses to practice (not that it would make a difference... ) and it will be dealt with in the same dignified manner that we have everything else this past year.

Herman will come to SC.

Gender neutral bathrooms are outrageous. Just my opinion though

Pretty egregious if you ask me.

Surprised they aren't demanding Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" be required reading for incoming freshmen

President Pastides and others are fully aware of this.

Look for a 'town hall' type of meeting that is totally peaceful and dignified.

We won't embarrass the SEC or ourselves...and it will further shame Mizzou for their handling of it compared to ours.

Yeah..this one makes no sense. If you're transgender...use the bathroom of the gender you "transed" to.

Simple.

Keep telling yourself that.

They haven't demanded anyone be fired.....yet.

You just better hope for your sake your administration fulfills whatever trivial demands they are now making. Our mistake was we didn't address the issue when it started. You better hope like hell you don't make the same one.

Indeed. We can't forget how our state's handle things differently in the past. (See Ferguson v. Charleston)

Well it will be peaceful and dignified on the administration's end. I'm not so sure that the SJW's won't show up with megaphones and shout down dissenting opinions

And to whoever bookmarked....y'all bookmark all you want. Please do. As someone else said, the way we handled Charleston (both times) vs the way Ferguson handled events nowhere close to the events in Charleston demonstrates just how wide the gap is between SC and MZ. *Clear this up for Mizzou folk...the gap isn't favorable to y'all.*

Literally the dumbest fricking comparison you could make.

Like I said....

You better hope like hell your university pres takes this seriously and finds an amicable result for them. You don't want this to escalate.

If they want transgender restrooms and a "Slave made" stamp posted on campus buildings then you better just go ahead and do it.

That would be me sweetie. You have alot of confidence. That's good. Everyone will be watching how SC will slam dunk this situation appropriately. I will be the first to commend you.
