"I wanna hold your hand"

Yes, really . An aunt bought the 45 for me; dad took it back to her fuming that I wasn't going to listen to a bunch of long-haired creeps.

Just curious, what songs from them do you consider solid?

Compare "I Want it That Way" or "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely" to the stuff Justin Beiber or One Direction put out today.

Not saying its great, but in terms of teen pop the 90s way way, way better.

You'll laugh I know, but this whole album reminds me of when I was a kid. My brother bought it and I listened to it all day everyday. I was like 6-7. Every song on there was a fricking radio hit.

That album hit 11x platinum and twice diamond. Goddamn. Despite what anybody may think of them, there will never be another rock/grunge band in history that has their kind of success. They broke records that some of the most memorable bands in the world couldn't even sniff. And that's in just 5 years.

True. Whenever "Story of my Life" comes on the radio I want to bash my head in with a fricking hammer

Songs solidly in the "I was a kid" category:

Nirvana - "Smells like Teen Spirit" - I was 6 when this came out.

No Doubt - "Spiderwebs" - 10 when this came out.

Oasis - "Wonderwall" - same.

Space Jam soundtrack - 11. I rocked this mother fricker.

Most Boyz II Men and early Mariah Carey remind me of childhood.

Also if any of y'all know the Christian singer Carman....there was a lot of that in my house.

Don't ask her on a straight tequila night. She'll starting thinking about him. Then she's ready to fight. Blames her broken heart on every man in sight on a straight tequila night.

My own prison was definitely their most meaningful and well thought out music. Human Clay was a radio album if I've ever seen one but it was still very good IMO.

I was in college for that song.

The ones that stand out for me are Like A Virgin, Raspberry Beret, and Centerfold.

I have a very distinctive memory of sitting at the kitchen table, eating breakfast before elementary school, and Betty Davis Eyes came on the radio. No idea why that stuck with me.

I also remember the first time I heard this:

Thought the 11 year old equivalent of WTF is this shite!?

I remember having an 8 track cassette of Black Sabbath's Iron Man. I about wore that thing out, thinking it was such a groovy song.
