That could go south very fast. I can understand wanting to have a gun with you to protect yourself, but if 50, 60 people have guns on them, how are you going to know which one is he gunman? How are police going to know which one is the gunman. Those kids in that situation will probably be so scared they'll probably shoot at the first person they see, which could be the gunman, or ti could be a student, or a police officer, or anyone. And let's not even get into what could happen if people brought their own guns to parties or games.

Dropping the guns on campus issue as these are still kids...
However, they are college kids which means they should be smart. In the video it briefly pans to a door that says EMERGENCY EXIT. While not knowing the layout of the FSU building usually these type exits are ground floor heading to the outside. Patton seems right in the "stay where you are shite" as I would have bolted out that emergency exit post haste when, you know, an actual emergency was happening.
Sometimes it is better to heed the flight instinct than wait like sheep and get cut down in the process.

I'd be willing to bet, that happens often times, at parties at least. State law prohibits carrying at certain types of public events. I would rather err on the side of freedom though. Fear of something shouldn't prohibit someone's Constitutional Rights. Just my humble opinion.
