Need some advice and why not ask the off topic board.
Friday my mom's house was broken into while we were up the road at my grandparents house. My mom is a widow and the break in really shook her up. Usually electronics was stolen, gun, etc.

Anyone got any advice on how to approach her about getting a security system installed?

"Hey, remember when that guy broke in and stole all of your shite? Do you want to possibly prevent that from happening again?"

Just tell her straight up you don't feel comfortable with her living alone at this point without a security system.

Research them and show her all the benfits of having one installed. Explain how you won't be comfortable until you know she is safer.
