My schools never closed or delayed start times for weather except for hurricanes or tropical storms that were almost hurricanes as far as I can remember

Whatever. Predicting the weather is hard for the pros, so it's not like we're doing more than spit-balling here.

Schools got delayed for two hours earlier this year because it was too cold. I shite you not.

Seriously? I had to wake up at 5:30 to catch the bus at 6:15. I also had to walk to/and from the bus stop.

My thoughts as well. When I had the misfortune of having to ride the bus to/from school, the bus did not make stops at practically every single individual home. The bus stop was about a block and a half away and it was usually in someone's yard, meaning there was no shelter to use until the bus arrived. You stood there and waited no matter how cold it was or if it was raining.

Don't even get me started on the rickety arse, cold as frick in the winter and hot as hell in the summer, buses we had back then. The ones they have now look like luxury charters in comparison. These youngins' these days seriously have no idea of how good they have it.

When I was in HS (Sophomore in College now), very low temps could cause a cancelation. The reasoning tended to be the buses wouldn't start due to the cold. As for snow, it basically shut the county down. Lack of machinery to clear the roads etc.

this 100%. Our bus didn't have heat half the time in the winter.

I love snow.

Kids love it too, but I'm usually right in there with them.

I love it.

Looking at it, that is.

Through a window, from the interior of a warm house.

Or in a damn picture

Shoveling it, driving in it, walking in it, experiencing the conditions that allow it to exist?

Nah, mayne

Our busses had no a/c and rarely had heat and all had mud grips on em cause they spent more time on dirt roads than pavement. Nothing like a driver saying "alright y'all hang on I gotta hit this stretch fast or we gonna get stuck" while reaching and grabbing a lower gear and flooring it

It's much safer that way. Get everyone home before any streets start to ice over.
