My best friend been working for them for nearly 30 years. Makes a killing. They get double time and a half for holidays and overnight call outs.

Well, if you think about it?

Alphabetically?… ATT is only two letters away from being arse

…which would have been a MUCH more unfortunate name for a major global corporate communications provider.

I think they're actively abandoning all of their copper infrastructure for fiber.

They are here. That's the crew my buddy is on now. It's much easier work that the poles and lines and bullshite. They give that stuff to the older fricks.

Their employees at the store are much more assisting that anyone you call.

But is shouldn't be that way.

As we age, this happens to all of us.

FWIW, AT&T is not "the AT&T"

Ma Bell split into Bell Labs (AT&T) the 7 Baby Bells
Bean counters reduced the greatest US research business to rubble before being sold to a French company

In the meantime the 7 Baby Bells merged with each other till just 3 remained
South Region = Bell South and Southwestern Bell
Yankee Region = Verizon
West = T Mobile

The South Region took AT&T from the rubble pile and made it their new name.

True Story.

You're right, but how is that going to help the man dealing with his wife going apoplectic about how the kids iPads don't work on the bus?

I got shuffled off of ATT wireless years ago due to work, but their fiber was bulletproof compared to anything that came over coax (Comcast.)

As a typical IT arse has to point out, I'm guessing it was a DNS issue. lol

I've caused P1 issues and had a better response to deliver to the client within 4 hours. Delay a few hundred flights, and screw up the flight schedule for the entire country, bah.

My generation did not grow up with electronic devices, yet we help fuel the growth of America.

#1 Educators that beat us (nuns, teachers, coaches, and principles)
#2 Schools that taught us to think, not just pacify us to babysit
#3 Parents were active in developing out mind and body
#4 Relatives held more sway than social media
#5 Homes were part of communities, not cocoons for electronic isolationism

I was fortunate that I grew up up in Department of Defense Schools. I'm only partially slow.

What I read from you, that you don't see, is:
1)You were taught to kneel on uncooked rice as punishment. Thanks, nuns.
2) LOL. Must have gone to school before the mid 60s.
3) LOL. You have got to be kidding.
4) N/A, social media didn't exist, but the cousin in your county still got pregnant, so you'll be fine
5) Electronic cocoons are created or allowed by parents.
