I'm not sure I follow. I've alluded to government officials needing to be held accountable numerous times in this thread, including my very first post. My stance is that deregulation, or what some folks version of deregulation is, isn't going to fix the root of the problem. As an example, I think government officials should be recused from corporate executive positions in the banking world and vice versa.

You cite lack regulations, I countered with the obvious detriment over regulation. Henry Ford was a real prick, we'll both likely agree to that point.

What's an example of over regulation hurting the economy? There are definitely examples, but they are much smaller and less prevalent than many would like to believe. Most "regulations" counteract the anti-competitive behavior large firms exhibit. And that's more pro-free market than what the big businesses want.

The trouble with the banks wasn't widespread fraud. The problem is with the need for financing. Financial modeling and risk management at that level is incredibly challenging. They're going to miss some things. Unfortunately when they lose, we all end up losing.
With the scope, there's obviously going to be a need for some regulation. We need to be careful it's not bad regulation, which can be worse than no regulation. It's not really about more or less, it's about the what and how.

Marijuana... over regulation has been a fiscal boondoggle for decades. Deregulation has been very much the opposite.

This is essentially what I was trying to say. I guess I shouldn't have initiated things with "LOL at people for deregulation".

Sounds like Paul was saying he's slightly more libertarian than the other candidates

Opposing cronyism doesn't make you free market. I can assure you that Sanders has zero interest in the free market.

Don't be hard on him, he just threw all the words that sounded bad into one cluster

Ron Paul: "Bernie is the Most Pro Free-Market Candidate"
And what does that say about the current candidates?
