This is my favorite house in the Delta. Mont Helena..built on an Indian Mound in the middle of a cotton field. Talk about haunted...

I also love this one, but it's not in good shape. Someone needs to restore it before it's too late.

Mount Holly on Lake Washington in Glen Allan, MS.

Built prior to the civil war in the 1840s, one of the oldest remaining houses in the delta. Abe Lincoln, General Lee, George Sherman and General Grant all were host to the plantation owners wife. The house was spared by Sherman on his march because he was friends with the lady. It was owned and built by her, which was rare back then for a woman.

I didn't grow up in a town, but here's two Fayetteville ones, one historic I like, and one that's really big and nice.

And here's a weird on that looks like a castle:

Mississippi sure has a lot of historic old homes.

Eastern Arkansas was the economic center of the state back when cotton was king. I'm sure there are some great ones down there, too, I'm just not real familiar with that part of the state.

I pass by it every day when I take my kid to school. It's like 20 acres in the middle of a middle class neighborhood.

Every time I pass that first house you posted I can only imagine the person living in it is a huge coke head. Just has that Pablo Ecobar type feeling.

Owner of Heartland Catfish lives in that house now.

There are some pretty sick ones in Traditions and Miramont. All brand new and not historic, but still massive homes

That's true. Some of the older houses near Bryan PD and the courthouse are unique but I don't know their names to find pictures.

Yeah they are. There's a little neighborhood just east of Texas I believe near a park that has some very cool old homes. Not sure what shape they are in now but if they were restored they would be gorgeous

There's some awesome restored homes in Southside in CS too

Probably the biggest house in the state at 45,000 square feet (Biltmore in NC is around 180,000 square feet so about 1/4 size of Biltmore) and built about 100 years ago with TX oil money.

House in Greenwood during the 1983 flood

Some other cool places in the Delta

Tallahatchie Flats: Place North of Greenwood close to the town of Money not far from the Store that Emmitt TIll was murdered for whistling at a white woman, sparking the Civil Rights movement. You can rent out an original sharecroppers house for the night like a motel..also a bar on site.

Hopson Plantation: Restaurant and Bar made from an old cotton gin..original mechanized cotton picker out front...the first one produced supposedly. Also has sharecropper cabins to rent out.

Dockery Farms Service Station: Sits right across from the dirt road that leads to the real crossroads where blues legend Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil

Not many mansions here. Most expensive homes are in the 2-3 million range, which isn't a lot here. Avg. house costs over 400,000

I like this one, it's on the waterfront and has a private dock.

Isn't the third one Jim Gallagher's house?

Negative. Jim's house isn't that big actually. It's a good size house but not like that.
