Duke freshman stands behind her alter-ego. No pics yet, but her identity should surface soon enough. Until then, here's an article about a Duke freshman who does porn to help pay tuition:

quote:

“Hey, are you Katie?” she asked, walking up and gathering her hair on one side of her neck. She was wearing the standard garb of many Duke women: a cotton, blue V-neck and lululemon yoga pants with a North Face jacket tucked underneath her arm. In shuffling past her on the plaza or sitting next to her on a bus, one would never suspect that Lauren was, in fact, involved in the adult film industry.

In talking to her during the meal to come, I hardly believed it myself. She talked of her dismissal of sororities—“it’s a toxic environment”—political beliefs—“Republican, but I identify more as a libertarian”—and her studies—“proud women’s studies and sociology double-major.”

Lauren said she travels to Los Angeles during breaks to shoot adult films. Her travel is paid for by her agent at Matrix Models. Lauren does not disclose how much she is paid per shoot, but during the course of our month-long correspondence she does not hesitate to show off to me her recently-purchased iPad mini and array of designer handbags.

Lauren's parents still do not know of her involvement in the porn industry. During winter break, she told her parents she had an additional final exam at Duke so she could fly to Los Angeles for a week of filming before flying home.

It's amazing how much these stars make. They porn business is a booming business, and these litte sloots are actually pretty business savvy.

Dissapointed in no pics

Seriously though, porn fricks up your brain. I have no moral issue with watching it (though some of the people it in are treated horribly) but it definitely isnt harmless.

It certainly changes the way you think about certain things. Be it a good thing or bad thing really depends on perspective IMO.

Watching it. Long term use of porn is linked to exponentially increased rates of depression, OCD, attention disorders and sexual dysfunction. Something like 70% of chronic porn watchers suffer from some degree of sexual dysfunction. Our brains are not designed evolutionarily for that level of sexual stimulation. Its too early to know, but some think that ultimately we'll find out that as porn addicts reach older ages they experience the same neurological deficits other addictions can cause due to things lie dopamine depletion.

It effects your brain dopamine pathways the same way drugs and alcohol do.

Anyone who watches porn regularly with the intent of becoming aroused and masturbating.

The fact is that the vast majority of men in America watch porn at least somewhat regularly and porn use is likely the most common "addiction" in western society. Its actually tough to study because we've figured out there is hardly anyone to make up control groups ie adult men who havent used porn.

what about watching it for entertainment purposes, or not with the intent of becoming aroused and masturbating every time?

Honestly, about half of my viewing time is purely curiosity or entertainment.

Ok first you were talking about psychological effects which i agree are very real.

But the physiological effects don't make much sense. People have always masturbated regularly, regardless of whether they had access to porn

Eta: I'm tired and on my phone.

I wish the government would ban pornography. It's had a negative effect on society.

Masturbating to thoughts =/ masturbating to porn

Masturbation in general has never been linked to serious psychological or physiological side effects. Even men who masturbate multiple times a day dont seem to get decreased sexual function for instance.

Its what becoming aroused by the overstimulation of porn does to your brain chemistry that fricks you up. Every guy who has given up porn will attest to the difference.
