Okay, keep us all updated with this very important story that in no way is an isolated incident involving just one crappy parent. Good work, BlueBallBelle.

When I was in elementary school in Dekalb county in Atlanta, paddling was allowed. Got my butt spanked 3 times that I recall, 2 times for causing fights and one time for not doing homework.

Didnt happen often, and the teachers never threatened it, but if you got it, you got it and likely deserved it. And the little frickers in class behaved.

My Daughter in Law teaches 4th grade in Cobb county now and the little bastards cause all kinds of trouble with no fricks given.

Whats interesting is she LOVES teaching hispanic kids because if they misbehave, and she mentions it to a parent, that kid will likely not be able to sit down for a week. The parents handle that shite.

Suburban white parents and the black parents ALL blame the teacher first regardless of whatever Junior did.

Kids that hit and spit should be spanked and if the parents don't like it then they should home school the child.
If my kid was getting beat and spit on and nothing happened to the spitter/hitter, there would be hell to pay

I'm sad to say I know this family. Nothing that comes from her or her families mouth can be trusted. I do not associate with them but I have known them for a while. I laughed when we were told about this before it went to the news. Best I can guess is she thinks she will get sympathy and a payday.

InfantryDawg, sounds like you're not very outraged about the situation. Since you know the woman directly, how many would you say are showing out rage along with the mother?

Glad to see you ignored the links I posted talking about the national debate.

You really are bad at trying to discredit people without making yourself look like an obsessed little twat. It's working about as well on the big OT right now as it is here.

I don't even know what you're talking about right now, what about here and the OT? Are you still following me around over there and assuming I know you're there? After you proved again you were exaggerating I stopped reading your posts all together. You aren't trustworthy. Sorry.

Trust me when I say this story is full of half truths . I have no opinion about the spanking because I have nothing vested in it. These people always have drama going on. I would take everything they say with a grain of salt. The only people I have witnessed being outraged are the ones close to her.

Once, again. I was there first. Your ego is telling you I'm there for you, but just like every time you've ever thought that about a man, you are wrong.

Totes. No wonder you don't work for that newspaper in Chattanooga anymore. You'd be shite for an investigative reporter.

Keep saying that and maybe you'll believe it someday. I know a dildo stuffing lonely girl who tries too hard to fit in when I see one. And you Miss Belle are the queen of lonely stuffers.

Yeah my Mom is getting out this year as well. Between stuff like this and the changes in ECE paperwork, she's ready too.

I hope the one lick that little truant got really stung his butt. What a brat.

"Mommy! Help! Help!"

Mommy could have benefitted from a paddling or two when she was growing up.

Personally, I think beating a child is the best way to teach them something

Paddling is not beating. It's last-resort discipline.

Far too many parents allow their children to run the parent/child relationship. The child then exhibits this learned behavior in other settings, such as schools.

Schools don't have the time necessary for building psychologically sound individuals. Nor is it the responsibility of teachers.

Georgia's approach to handling the problem parent who doesn't teach their child the self-discipline necessary for social interactions is sound. The punishment that is applied may seem Pavlovian to some, but it's safe and very effective.
