I would say my Junior High Football coach. He took me under his wing and treated me as a man. I went into athletics because he told me I could.

Track coach. He was my jr high coach and moved to the HS with our class.

Pushed me a lot as an athlete and a student and had a silent leadership style that resonated.

He's the principal of the HS now.

Someone I never met, Louis L'Amour. His writing opened me up to the world of books and self education.

Myself; if it wasn't for me doing something I wouldn't have done anything.

My old boss,RIP.
He started with a one piece of land inherited from his dad. When he passed he was worth over 80 million. Left this Earth too soon,

He's my Guitar Playing Buddy/Preacher/Therapist.

He's taught me to truly be free.I'm happier than anytime in my life because of how I see things, how I deal with things,or don't deal with them.

I'm not bothered by things I can't control.

These are probably things that you learn or accept with age.If that's the case,it's a shame.

Better late than never though.

Keith Richards. His ability to absorb huge quantities of drugs and alcohol has served as an inspiration in my own life.

My fiance and my current mentor for my job.

My fiance taught me to be more open-minded, and my mentor taught me/is teaching me how to be good at my job.

My HS bball coach was a mean old frick.

Edited to sound less assholeish

That's a hard question to answer, because it's a toss up, and believe it or not, both taught me pretty much the same thing.

Bob Dylan and one of my Marine Corps Drill Instructors.

The lesson was: The only person that can get in your way, is yourself. Trust yourself, you are capable of anything humanly possible.

Now, I have failed at a bunch of shite in my life, but each failure, I can see where it was my own damn fault. I am sure I have more failures in my future, but I sure am not afraid to try.

This is probably a minor sticking point, but did she actually influence you, or just recognize you for what you were/are?

The OP's question can be translated a million ways I suppose.
To me,"influence" means " an energy that can change direction of something or somebody"

Did she change the way you looked at school and classes? Your own future in that environment?

My old boss. I learned so much from him in the 10 years I worked for him. I don't think I will ever have more respect for someone professionally than I do him. He definitely molded me and I'm quite thankful for it.
