The biggest threat is just north of the coast. Say from like McComb, MS toward Tallahassee. Only see conditions this good for that far south a couple times a decade.

That isn't good. There are still people here in Hattiesburg that aren't recovered from the February 2013 tornado. Hopefully this forecast will be a bust like the one a few weeks ago.

Tornadoes in the Black Belt.

I really doubt this one busts, but not everyone will see severe weather either. I'd really keep an eye out if you're in Hattiesburg, looks to be about dead center of the highest risk area.

Well that's just great. I had $55K in damage to my home 3 years ago and was fortunate that my family wasn't hurt. Let's hope this system doesn't pan out like the forecast predicts.

High res model has an 983 mb low over the mid south Wednesday morning. I hope its overdoing it on the strength.

A 983 mb low near Monroe, Louisiana is ridiculous. Very rare to see a non-tropical low that strong that far south. Not good.

That's probably a little overdone. At least I hope so. Probably going to be more like 990ish. Rare indeed.

Checking in from Hattiesburg.

Baton Rouge under the gun today as well with a moderate risk overhead. Still think the real focus will be across the Florida Parishes into southern Mississippi and Alabama.

Everyone be safe out there.

It's a silly little thing, but I hate it when these things roll in after dark. Doesn't matter a whit when it comes to the danger posed, but to me there's something psychological about it happening at night that makes it worse.
That, and as a first responder, I'd much rather be out working in the daylight than in the dark.

I see LSU is trying to kill its students. I woke up to SLU shutting it down for the day
Every other school had made the call last night around the area.

I will be providing updates as the day goes on. When there's severe weather, trust Duke and the entire Fear Chamber team to keep you up to date.

My 1030 class was cancelled. So I'm not going to die. Well...not because of LSU at least.
