I don't think a slight fever counts. Otherwise why would the CDC have cleared that nurse to get on the plane?
Family friend that is a doctor said that by the time people are contagious, they won't be physically able to get on a plane without some help.

The CDC isn't exactly infallible. Even if it's a slight fever why would you ever chance that?

Because it is still incredibly unlikely the disease would spread.
And I'd bet lots of money that a lot of people calling this chick selfish would be hollering about the government infringing on their rights.

She's tested negative for Ebola twice. She's never shown any signs of fever. All this does is contribute to the irrational hysteria over this virus and deter other medical professionals from going to Africa to help stop it.

I work with ESL kids that regularly come here directly from overseas. Several from Africa. If I was in contact with one of our students who was diagnosed with Ebola I'd have no problem with being
quarantined for the safety of my family, friends, etc.

exactly -- we don't know what we think we know...and there are few absolutes with things like this.
I bet there are folks in Africa that wish someone would have quarantined a few people early..

Kudos to you but unless the kid was vomiting and shitting all over your classroom and sneezed in your mouth it'd be unnecessary.
Plus the situations aren't the same. The doctors coming back know that they're dealing with Ebola. Ebola is even less likely to be spread if you know someone has it and have the proper protection. Obviously there are some mistakes made and thats why some doctors are getting Ebola, but that has a lot to do with the poor conditions they're working in.

Doctors are gonna recognize the symptoms of Ebola and turn themselves in for quarantine. Since the disease doesn't spread until you're displaying symptoms this mandatory quarantine is just a deterrent for doctors to go over there and help and could make things worse instead of better.
Also we've had a grand total of one doctor flying back to the US and being diagnosed over here. One.
This is one hell of an overreaction, especially considering only one other person has brought the disease over.
