For years, I thought that the service academies were the only lily white programs left in the NCAA. Considering they are military, the recruitment is tough enough. Can you imagine being a 17-18 year old football star? Army wants you to play for them but, you can exceed a certain weight, which is very minimum considering most SEC linebackers, you have to sign your life away for the military for six years with no chance of a NFL contract until after you leave the service - considering NFL still wants you 6 years after youre college career.

Dont get me wrong - Graduating West Point ect ect, is a glorious achievement but the recruitment is just dismal. So the football team elected to THIS

There isnt a lily white program in College Football anymore. None.

David Robinson played basketball for the Naval Academy and he isnt exactly short. There are waivers for certain things.

Napoleon McCallum had a pretty nice NFL career after military as well. Those schools are not traditional football powers, but if you have the intellect to go there, the physical ability to play, and the willingness to serve your country first, you can still play pro.

Hey douche. Do some research once and a while.

Spoiler Alert: At least I went to college.

"Mandatory military service. Unlike players who sign a normal scholarship tender, athletes at the service academies sign on to serve in active military duty after college. As expected, that "is a turnoff for a lot of kids," according to new Army head coach Jeff Monken. "

FIFY.

I'm slightly OCD when it involves grammar/spelling. Sorry. (not really, though)

I have a hard time believing KU football cheats in any way possible. If we do, we're terrible at it.

All of the guys who want to pursue it do like two or three years then get released from active duty into a PR role or something like that. It happened with Chad Hall, Collin Mooney and Eric Kettani. It still isn't ideal but you don't have to wait six years

There were teams in the SWC that cheated their asses off and only won 3 games a year (TCU)
