Would it be better for the NFL, coaches and players if they had a minor league? Develop coaches, develop players, pay players from day 1 with a limited cap, allow players to move up and down. Allow the RBs to get to the NFL sooner before their acls are wrecked.

Would you be okay with it even if it meant the good talent went there and not to a normal CFB team?

I wouldn't want to take the players away from CFB, but I would be I think an NFL minor or D-league could work.

I have often wondered about a scenario like this. Many of these players are taking a big gamble staying in CFB when some are ready for the NFL. Marcus Lattimore is a prime example of a player who was ready and would have been better suited to a league like you are discussing.

For the coaches and players, yes. For the NFL, no. Right now, they don't have to pay for their minor league.

And Gurley. He could have been moved up after year one.

That's a good point. It is free.

But I wonder if you made it a state thing, split the lower 48 into 4 regions with a 4 team playoff AND a requirement for HS players to remain in state for a given time if you could generate enough of a state pride thing to make it financially viable. Basically, steal the sidewalk fans from cfb.

Yes. The colleges should drop the amateur bullshite, get ahead of the coming wage protests and drop the requirement to go to class and negotiate with a "college" players union to split profits and share in losses.

The Missouri strike made me think the time is coming. I thought concussion lawsuits would do it but teams striking over whatever might end cfb. And I think an NFL Minor league is the best thing for all involved except for the colleges.
