I'm sure this one will be easy since many of you already live there or have visited there quite a bit.
I will be staying at a place off E Lovers Lane near Hwy 75 for 5 days and was tasked to find a few things I want to do. I am looking for a couple good eateries, a few good live music venues (preferably TX country since you assholes always talk about it), and maybe a couple of bars with an assortment of beers. Of course, somewhere with TX BBQ would be swell.
I heard from someone there that there are Mtn bike trails there??
Thanks to all who choose to spend a part of their day replying to this super important topic.

There's a Love and War in Texas in that general area. Great food and they'll have live bands on the weekends.

Go to the Rustic for some good music. You can see who they have coming in on their website. It's right off 75 and Blackburn just as you go into uptown.
Billy Bobs in Ft. Worth is a hike, but if you want to go to a real honky tonk this is it. They usually have a good show or two on the weekend as well.
For BBQ:
1. Pecan Lodge is the best in the world, this is a fact. Get the 3 meat plate with sausage, pulled pork and brisket, with Mac and cheese. It will be the best meal of your life.
2. Second place is probably Lockhart smokehouse in bishop arts district, it's more easily accessible with better hours, and if you eat there walk two blocks up the street to get pie at Emporium
3. A new place called Babb bros in Trinity Groves is good, too. There is a place called Cake Bar just across the parking lot, the hummingbird cake will change your life.
For standard southern fare:
you can't go wrong with Sissy's on Henderson close to where you'll be staying. Best fried chicken in Dallas, with the exception of rudy's. But you always risk getting shot or stabbed in that area of town, so I wouldn't recommend unless you want an adventure.
The Porch is right across the street and also really good. They are more of a gourmet place, tho still really good.
Right near you will be central market, which has everything you'll need for groceries, etc. real good food, cheese, bread, wine and beer selection, etc.
There are several breweries all over, but if you want to taste our local wares without having to drive to each, go to LUCK in Trinity Groves. They serve only local stuff and have good food, too.
I'm not a mountain biker, so I've never ridden any trails in Dallas. But looking at the Dallas off road bikers website, the trail in Cedar Hill would probably be the most challenging since that area has lots of hills. Best trails are in east texas in you don't mind driving 1.5 hrs.
Lots of golf courses around as well. Holler if you need a rec.
