If you are downtown just hit up Broadway and 2nd avenue. If you swing a dead cat you'll hit a bar. Broadway has The Stage, Tootsies, Broadway Brewhouse, Cadillac Ranch, The Whiskey Bent. A lot of places with live music. 2nd avenue has McFaddens, Coyote Ugly, Doc Holliday's. Union Street has the Riverfront Tavern and the Beer Cellar. Just to name a few. There are several more in the west end area by Vanderbilt.

go to the Demonbreun bars by Vandy for more of a local feel....tin roof is my favorite. broadway and second for the tourist bars....tootsies, the stage, legends, big bang, cadillac, wild horse and mcfaddens are all good, but theres so many options.

See harmonics post above. If you go to Nashville for the first time and don't go to Tootsie's, Legends, the Stage, etc...you might as well go hang out at the bar at Applebee's. That strip IS Nashville.
