Opryland is quite the experience if you've never stayed there. Pricey, but absolutely gorgeous inside.

How long will you stay?
Is money an issue?

2 weeks going home on weekend. Money is not unlimited. Nashville hotel rooms are more than I thought lol
It looks like I may just stay in suburbs and ask for restaurant picks. Hopefully that Nashville Per Diem is good lol

Just stay at The Marriott near downtown. It's pretty nice and a shuttle goes to and from to the airport. I work right next to it if you wanna go watch some LSU basketball and get drunk.

I'd stay West End/Downtown if I were you.

Look towards Bell Rd in Hickory Hollow. Lots of fun. Never a dull moment! Keep your gun close

Do not stay in Hickory Hollow/ Bell Road area. If you stay downtown and work near the airport you are at least going against traffic. I'd also try to maybe stay in Brentwood or Cool Springs area off of i-65. There is a courtyard Marriott on Carothers Drive that is next to Cajun Steamers Restaurant, Swanky's Taco Shop and Losers Bar. Tin roof 2 and franklin Abbey, cigar store are right down the street (Holiday Inn Express is closer to these). On the other side of the interstate there is a Spring Hill Suites and Hampton Inn right next to the Johnathans Bar and Grille and Broadway Brewhouse South. You would be about 20 minutes away from downtown and can take a back way to avoid traffic to get to airport area but in a really nice area within walking distance to some bars and restaurants. The Hampton Inn in Green Hills is just outside of downtown but may be cheaper than an actual downtown hotel. Nice area as well and close to bars and restaurants.

It is easy enough to get back and forth downtown when you aren't fighting rush hour. There are plenty of good hotels right off of Briley Parkway that will put you right near the airport. Stay there. After work, go to the hotel to shower, shite and shave, then (after rush hour) take the quick jaunt downtown to eat and live it up on Broadway.
If you don't eat at least one meal at Jacks on Broadway, you should be kicked in the nads.

Try some of the places around Elm Hill Pike, especially if you have a per diem as you can haggle if you will be there 2 weeks. Extended stay type places will be cheaper but seems their was a clarion or comfort inn that was pretty good. Free breakfast in the morning and free happy hour at night (2 small beers and finger food) as it was what the original hotel did before becoming part of the chain.
Spend the dough you save for trips to downtown and west end.
Elm Hill is a good go to if not staying on west end which has gotten pricey.
