Very interesting read. The article is much more than what I quoted, it's just that if I quoted every interesting part I would have quoted the whole thing and the article is kind of long to put the whole thing in the OP.
It's worth the read. Gets into the Fermi Paradox, Dark Matter, the God Particle, and the Standard Model.

Everything you have ever done or will do could simply be the product of a highly-advanced computer code.
Every relationship, every sentiment, every memory could have been generated by banks of supercomputers.
This was the terrifying theory first proposed by British philosopher Nick Bostrom.
quote:
“In quantum mechanics, particles do not have a definite state unless they’re being observed.
“Many theorists have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how you explain this.
“One explanation is that we’re living within a simulation, seeing what we need to see when we need to see it.
quote:
The idea that our Universe is a fiction generated by computer code solves a number of inconsistencies and mysteries about the cosmos.

I knew dosing the water supply in Huntsville would pay off.

Someone threw together some science facts and some philosophy in a tossed salad we should name malarkey. Why do so many people almost demand that there be some kind of "supermind" behind the origins of existence?

will smoke something then read the article

The Origin of Existence can be be summed up in one phrase.
"Number One, Super-sized."
Those who seek all shall be fortunes to the pity of nothing.
If the birds that woke me up this morning with their song means I chose the blue pill, so be it. I became enlightened to their song.
The world is a beautiful place in which to live.
The beauty of life is the reality of life, the quantification of hopes and dreams, and of nightmares and failure.
Today I lived, and tomorrow I shall do the same, the idea of a matrix is an illusion set forth in the mind.
Life is real, no illusions, no games. Nothing is set in motion for you but today.
frick the idea of the matrix, life is life. If you are numb to it, you are missing out.

Scientist (singular) is how the linked title reads...

Buddy of mine from HS just graduated from UAH and started literally this week as a rocket scientist for NASA in Huntsville. I used to smoke with him all the time in HS and yes we even tripped together a few times. Perhaps the timing of this article isn't coincidental?

Engineers, physicists, and chemists are precisely the folks who need to trip. They can actually come up with new ideas. I'm just engaging in mental masturbation at this point. I'm halfway tempted to go back to school for ChemE so I can do some TIKHAL nd PIKHAL experiments...

The entire world would be better served if everyone just tripped once.
Nothing like a good DMT pants shite to help you realize that we're all in this together.

Dude, take some harmaline extract about 45 minutes before smoking DMT. It's an ayahuasca trip without the violent explosions from the north and south ends.

That sounds interesting. I've seen documentaries on ayahuasca. I bookmarked your post so I can remember to look more into it.
How hard would it be to come across that? Am I going to have to wait until Phish comes to TTown in August and troll the lot?

For the harmaline? Not at all. You can do a simple extraction yourself, no legal worries involved. The deemz are a different story, of course.
I'll be there in August. And for the Shakes show, too.
ETA: You won't even find it anywhere, honestly. Only time I've encountered it was a super heady burn festival.

Then he looked right through me
With somniferous almond eyes.
Don't even know what that means
Must remember to write it down.
This is so real.
Like the time he floated away.
See my heart is pounding.
This shite never happens to me.

So has NASA fixed the Middle East jobs problem yet?

Comments are as interesting as the article. Some shite really brings out the crazy.

Fwiw, this has been speculated for centuries in different ways.
