Ok about a month ago I had my yeti cooler stollen from my house. I had returned from a weekend trip on a Sunday night, washed the cooler out and left it to dry on my parking pad next to my garage (we live in a townhouse complex). On Thursday of that week we were getting ready to go out of town again so I started gathering everything when I remembered that I had left the cooler out and when I looked for it, it was missing. I knew right then what had happened.

When I got the cooler I wrote with a sharpee my name and phone number on the cooler in several different locations. I had an original Icey-tek cooler stollen a few years ago so I decided to write my name and number on this new one to identify it if it was ever stolen.

This weekend on Sunday while on my way home I received the following text:

quote:

Hey there did you have a yeti cooler stolen?

Obviously I replied yes and this is the rest of the responses from my good sumaritan

quote:

Well I got your name and number off the cooler I know who has it he told me he stole it.

This is who has it. (Name of thief and his Facebook homepage with his picture)

Your name was on the bottom

I really don't wanna say my name and get involved

I don't even know him I just over heard a conversation and got your number off the bottom that was at the hangout that's where you'll find him.

Yeah I know man I'd be pissed if some one stole something I worked and paid for.

No I think he works at the dairy queen by the Cobb movie theater be is usually at the hangout after dark in the parking lot

Yeah there there's a group stealing everything from your neighborhood

No problem

I went looking for him (he's 17 goes to same HS and is in his grade, he doesn't know him but said he's a little POS punk and hangs with a bunch of trash) Sunday afternoon where I was told he hangs out and found him but he was with about 15 other punks and his truck wasn't there and I didn't see the cooler so I didn't confront him and blowy cover that I knew he had it. Well the cops are now involved and the little shite has been in a bunch of trouble, currently on probation for theft(go figure) and drugs. He's been to a youth boot camp and a Rehab. When the officer finds him this week and he finds my cooler then this kid is going to be in a shite ton of trouble. Revoke his probation and will be sent to some 6 month wilderness program for troubled teens. Maybe this will finally get through to him but I don't give a frick as long as he is punished and I get my stuff back and hopefully they recover other items he's stollen.

But the main reason for my post is to tell about the person who did the right thing and contacted me regarding my stolen property. Nice to know there are young people out there who aren't afraid of doing the right thing. Hopefully I will find out who sent me the text and I can buy him/her lunch or give a reward of some sort , all I have is a number, and my son didn't recognize it.

Anyway TLDR, IDGAF.

Yeah I know, I have spoken with the officer involved to make sure the informant doesn't get identified if at all possible.

I just want the thief to get what's coming to him.

Maybe they'll donate this kid to ISIS to practice their torture/executions as a punishment. Everyone knows you don't frick with a bro's Yeti.

He stole his Yeti. If he would've gotten the chacos too, this would be a no brainer.

Look I'm just saying a better and less extreme punishment would be to have him sit in a car and honk his horn as the 2011 LSU fb team walked by.

I got a phone call last week from a number I didn't recognize. Answered it.

Guy says he found a wallet with my I'd in it. Googled my name and got my number via my linked in profile.

Apparently I had forgotten it on top of my car at a gas station, drove off and it ended up in the road.

Had over $100 in cash in the wallet, which the guy rounded up (much of it had fallen out), returning every dollar to me.

There's still a few good folks out there.
