But they are back-to-back. And talking to each other. Neither can see the other one crying.

This is probably because hermaphrodites don't cry because the hormones turn all of the saline into cement, and that is what makes them sturdy and less prone to bone breakage.

A few of them can also teleport, but only their mangled downstairs.
