Central west end, Delmar loop, Forrest Park Museum . Souliard farmers market. Depends on what you want to spend on eating out, lots of awesome restaurants, BBQ and Italian are probably 1A and 1B but plenty of really good restaurants. St Charles downtown is ok too. Depends on your age and if you are on the look out for white women. Stay south of 70 once you are in town. What area of town are you staying ?

We've been going to St. Louis for a long time. Last week we went to the Contemporary Art Museum and the Pulitzer Foundation museum. Both were really cool, next to each other, and free. Admittedly, if you aren't into art and architecture probably won't care about it. CAM has a good Kaws sculpture and painting af the moment. Pulitzer has a cool blue/black themed exhibit.

Grew up here in Illinois & just moved back here last year. Went to STL quite a few times this summer. City Museum was my favorite thing this summer. I think I had more fun than the kids. Also have six flags which depending on when you're going they might be open. I know they do a big Halloween thing there. I always stay outside the city at a Drury. They're cheap and decent hotels (a Missouri chain actually).

There are tons of great recommendations above just adding my 2 cents.

Have fun!

Et: can't remember if I saw it, but the zoo is free, and a pretty good zoo!!

There's actually a few cool places to check out there but none that I would put on top of the others talked about already.

Suprised there has been no mention of the metro east. Take in some of the areas finest culture in quaint small towns such as Sauget, Brooklyn and Washington Park.

If you do the brewery tour do something more than the free tour. There wasn't much to that one - see some horses and the outside of some vats. I don't know what they entail but look it up.
