I have not been to trapani's since katrina but loved it before they moved (i think they have moved again since that time)
They initially moved out on Hwy 90 in a shopping center but moved back to the initial location on the Bay when they rebuilt. Place is nice (two story with a full bar) but I miss the ambiance of the old building.

Is the Blow Fly Inn still in existence?
Yes, had a lunch with a client just the other day.

....Is Grand Bear the best golf course in that area?

Yep, throw Windance, the island view's course in there as well.

For a funky twist on sushi, go the Chef Scott's over in Ocean Springs
Place is awesome, cramped but awesome. Plus you can bring your own bottle

The seafood restaurant in the casino at hard rock is top notch.

The Bridges is Bay St Louis is a nice course that I'd recommend. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT play at Pass Isles. Terrible course.
Can't really speak for the East side of the coast, but Trapanis in Bay St Louis is okay. Service is usually bad but the food is good. I'd eat at the upstairs patio (different menus) and get the Shrimp Exctasy as an App. Crab stuffed Flounder with the Bay St Louis sauce is awesome too.
If you're into BBQ I'd check out the Shed in Vancleave.
Beau Rivage is obviously the best Casino. Ocean Springs is more of an artsy town that you'd enjoy having a couple of drinks at.

My own list of the top ms coast golf courses
Grand Bear- Saucer (north of Gulfport a few min. ride
Windance-north Gulfport
Fallen Oaks- Saucer
Shell Landing- Gautier
The Oaks- Pass Christian
Pass Isles is not as bad as the other poster mentioned. It is not a top notch course but is not bad at all for a reasonably priced course that always has openings. It got kinda bare immediately after Katrina (imagine that) but has come back very well.
The only places on the coast that I have played I would avoid are Bayou Vista, Great Southern, and Sunkist. But I enjoy playing golf, not hanging in the clubhouse.
Have fun

I played the Bridges on Monday. It was well taken care of. The par 4's were kind of weird. They were all short for the most part. I bet I used my driver 5 times the whole round... If you're accurate with a 3 wood with a decent wedge game, you can murder the par 4's and all of the par 5's are reachable in 2.

The other posters have you covered here. The only thing I would add is if you have time, make the trip to Mobile to Robert Trent Jones at Magnolia Grove. You can make a tee time on both courses and just make a day of it. They would be top 5 when compared to any on the lists already mentioned.
1) Fallen Oak (Must stay at the Beau)
2) RTJ (I prefer the Falls, but most like the Crossings better)
3) RTJ (Opposite of above)
4) Preserve
5) Grand Bear

"can't miss" seafood
Half Shell Oyster House right across the street from the Beau and Hard Rock. Best seafood in Biloxi, IMO. Another poster mentioned it, but I'm telling you I go there every time I am home, sometimes make a special trip.

Not really a beach person
Just in case you decide to wander out, take the ferry to one of the islands. The beaches on the south side of the islands are akin to what you would expect east of Gulf Shores. I think it was ship island that made the top 25 beaches in America list last year.
Hope you have a great time man. Oh yeah, hit up Chef Scott's in Ocean Springs if you have the time. Sushi is fricking fantastic.

How are the Shrimp Po-boys at Lil Rays?
Posted on 7/29/15 at 12:58 pm to Sancho Panza
Pirates Cove has some great Poboys.

Where is this Po-Boy shop in a gas station? I have had 3 people swear they have the best Po-boys in the state but not a one can explain where it is at (they all said Pirates Cove was a close 2nd).
