Coming all the way from Tupelo, all of Memphis scares me.

Memphis is my home and I love it, and I still hang out down town and midtown so I'm not scared to be around it, but I'm sick of having to put up with all the bullshite and getting robbed or getting close to it.
Beale is fine because of the police presence, but as soon as you get off the street and try to get to wherever your vehicle is parked there's a good chance you're getting robbed, and it's fricking frustrating.

The only time I've been to Beale was for a concert. Some guy jumped off the roof of the hotel and killed himself.
I've never been robbed there, but I don't spend much time in Memphis. I typically get in and get out.

Man it was not even remotely like that when I graduated high school in 99 it seems but by mid 2000s it was more than marginally worse.

I went out on Beale once this summer, and I have no desire to go back, just a ton of trashy people, black and white. We ended up at Ernestine and Hazel's to get away from it.

Speaking of Raeford's, here's a story from a couple of months ago of a white kid getting robbed and then curb stomped outside of Raeford's
