I didn't want to watch the 1st fight, much less a rematch.

i think at a very basic level the general public has gotten to the point where it doesn't give a shite about boxing. Without all of the hype and shite talk that went into this fight, plus the allure of seeing how an MMA fighter would pair against a top boxer, no one would have given a shite about this fight either.

Its no longer boxer vs boxer, its personality vs personality. No one is tuning in to see someone win, they are tuning in to see the other guy lose.

You know someone that actually paid to watch it?

Damn there's a bunch of salty people in here. I watched the fight (didn't pay total but I threw in with several others), we had a grand ole time. The fight was pretty entertaining considering that was the whole point.

Food, alcohol and other party favors were great. Friends and fellowship was nice.

Just confused as to why so many people can't fathom others spending $100 on one of the most hyped up boxing matches in history...

I can't fathom spending money on boxing. Much less a gimmick fight between a retired guy and a guy that isn't a boxer.

You can basically get any movie for free these days, so why spend money on a movie ticket? Because you like the experience!

if the fight were fixed then Conor would have won. he's 11 years younger and beating Floyd would set him up for huge paydays for years to come & Floyd would have gotten a piece of that promotion.

McGregor winning wouldn't do that at all -- in fact, it'd probably kill boxing if a guy with no professional boxing record clobbered one of the best boxers of all time.

100% fixed, never seen a fighter so happy to lose.

McGregor vs. Malignaggi is what's going to come next, no way he goes back to fighting in the UFC for single digit millions when the money is quite obviously in boxing.

Boxing is over. It's best of a generation needed 10 rounds to get a questionable TKO against a guy with no professional fights.

It's a sport, but not a combat sport.
