Couldn't agree more. I can't spend all day researching individual companies and trying to pick stocks if you can't is a dangerous game.

Index funds. Buy on dips. Let it ride.

I rented the movie "Blackhat" not long ago... not for the fact I love Michael Mann movies but because the story featured in it is probably realistically a concept thats going to play a part in the near future concerning things like cyber-terrorism, hacking schemes that can drastically affect/influence world markets etc. A lot of people thought the movie was boring, but I loved it, btw...

I have a bank account, but i hate it. My employer wont cut paper checks. In fact most dont anymore. It has to be direct deposit, which is like forcing you to do buisness with third parties (banks) concerning your money. Because of massive recent IRS fraud, identity theft, credit card hacking, etc I'll be the first to admit im not comfortable with that right now. The United States govt was recently hacked exposing their own personnel. Penalties for these crimes are not nearly as comparable as those concerning violent crimes..... yet the lasting effects on victims are. It takes months, years to clean up. Who the frick wants to deal with that??

So if this WAS a legitimate large-scale hack... just be very worried. Especially if a large part of your finances are tied up in this shite. Could get very ugly, very fast.

the Chinese economy tanks, what impact could it have on the huge amount of debt we owe them? Could they call some of it in?

Also what impact would it have on our economy? Would it cause their manufacturing output to be reduced and a revival of American manufacturing?

A revival of American manufacturing is going to require innovation in manufacturing processes and a growing global consumer class.
