So I was listening to Aziz Ansari and he was doing a bit on marriage and the length of time people dated before they got married. So here's my question for the board, how long did you and your SO date before engaging? How long from engagement to marriage? And how many marriages have you had?

me and my wife were engaged after 6 months. engaged for 2 years and a few odd months and this may we will be married for 5 years.

We got engaged after dating for 2 years and 3 months. We were engaged for 1 year and 4 months, and have now been married for 1 month today. This is the first marriage for both of us.

Dated for 6 years before the engagement. We dated from junior year of high school until my last semester of college when I proposed. Engaged since last March and the wedding is in June.

On the short dating and engagement: We had dated a few years earlier for a short time, broke up, remained friends, and I dated a few girls in between her. When we got back together we set a wedding date before we were even "officially" dating again. I took a light semester of school to pay for a ring and got engaged as soon as I could afford it.
I was 20 at the time.

Dated for 9 months, broke up.
Got back together about 2 years later. Dated for another 6 months. Engaged for about 2 months but nobody knew. Neither of us wanted a big wedding so we eloped and got married in the mountains.

Did the exact same thing except I proposed spring junior year. Been Married since July.
