To hire for a family wedding and throwdown. Any suggestions?

Go to a good, local acoustic music store and ask. They will probably even have some business cards pinned up on a bulletin board.
Go to one that handles higher end instruments.

WHY?!?!?!?!?!
It's a great choice for a real "family" gathering. A good Bluegrass band can play about anything, they keep the show clean, and they don't need an elaborate sound system to set up.
Oh yeah, It's damn great music too. Most people really love it.

Not sure if they are still playing, but there used to be a group based out of Atlanta called Orange and Bluegrass. A couple, if not all, of the guys in the band were AU alums.
They played at least one, if not more, of the Atlanta Auburn Club "meet the football coach" functions when they were held at Cobb Galleria.

In all seriousness, it's too bad The Soggy Bottom Boys isn't a real group. That would certainly be entertaining.

That Honeywood band might be a really good one to check on.

Well, I think it was pretty much Union Station, I know it was Dan Tymenski and Ron Block, probably Jerry Douglas.

These Guys are really good, the front man is Russell Smith, from The Amazing Rhythm Aces.
He was making a great point, and also being funny at the same time, while playing some great music.
Damn man! Thanks a lot. I do like that.
