My dad's favorite

I know myself. If I allow myself to have dressing, I'll get carried away and end up with more dressing than salad

Ranch (homemade), blue cheese, caesar, balsamic vinegarette.

I also like my own version of 1000 island that is simply ketchup, mayo, and a splash of pickle juice (I assume white vinegar will work too).

1000 island is great but if you eat salad a lot it starts to taste kind of gross, so I never have a clear cut favorite, I just alternate between Ranch, Italian, 1000 island, and olive oil.

The only salad dressings I seem to enjoy are vinaigrettes.

Italian for when I make a salad because i like the kind that I buy. I don't order it at restaurants because many places will taste way different than the brand I like and I won't like it, so if I eat out I usually just get ranch.

I also love pouring ranch on saltine crackers

The dressing they use at Olive Garden (it's the only thing they serve that's good) & 1000 Island.

Newman's Own light Italian

They add a bit of lemon and makes it tangy perfection. I dip sandwiches and pizza crust in it too.

I'm from the Midwest, where we put ranch on pretty much everything. That being said, for those of you who enjoy 1000 Island, there's an Irish pub in Jefferson City just down the road from Columbia that puts the stuff on their deep-fried burger. Trust me, it's as amazing as it sounds:

The Yogi Burger

Beer battered, deep fried, topped w/ Thousand Island dressing on toasted bakery bun
