Which has the better ROI?

18 wheels

straight truck with sleeper doing long hot shot

small truck doing more local hot shot

Those box trucks with the sleepers pulling expedited freight from airport to airport are killing it

4 one tons running hot shot

This is actually what I want to do when I retire from police work. Strangely enough, I actually enjoy driving. Glass of iced tea, a pinch of Cope, and Rush Limbaugh on the radio and I could drive all day. Just want to be home at night, so no long-haul stuff.

Depends, the Big Truck is going to cost you more up front but will last longer.

The trick to running hot shot is finding clients who have stuff that is urgent even when it isn't.

If you are doing the driving yourself they all have about the same ROI 18 wheels just takes a bit longer to get there.

If you are putting a driver into a truck you own it varies wildly, depending on whether or not the guy is a hustler or is lazy, as well as how well he takes care of your equipment.

Sure enough hot shot pays the most per mile but those loads are few and far between especially since the oilfield is down.

If you are in a large city a 1 ton with a 10' flatbed cab do very well.

I realize this is a confusing answer but the trucking business is hit or miss if you're independent, the best way to earn is to lease on with a large company until you learn the business. Customers aren't easy to get and I'll tell you now are harder to keep, one late arrival and you're done.

been looking for the right place to drop this link

https://atlantamafia.com/College%20Football%20Trucks.htm

haven't seen the annual off-season "equipment hauler" thread on tRant this summer...

Gamecocks just got a new wrap for 2015 compliments of the Lexington Co Gamecock Club.

To each his own but if I had to listen to rush going down the highway I would promptly drive off the tallest overpass possible
