I visit /r/childfree occasionally because I'm not sure if I want kids
I don't visit /r/watchpeopledie however
If that's a typical redditor, then most redditors are pretty atypical

My sister and brother-in-law go to church with him and we're quick to jump to his defense. They're still in shock over the whole thing because everyone thought he was a great guy who loved his family and loved being a dad.
I don't know him, but I hope they fricking fry him.

What is up with Bama fans and the law? I know they're extreme outliers to the Bama fandom, but what extremes. From what I can recall, we have the child killer dad, a Bama fan paedophile in Pennsylvania, the Bama fan in a drug den, Bama fan who killed another Bama fan for not being upset enough, he bama fan who shotgunned a LSU fan,the Ama fan who stabbed several Auburn frat embers and then tried to bribe a mentally disabled man to confess, the Teabagger, Harvey and Bernie Madoff.

shite like that happens in every single fan base in the country. Trying to make it about the Alabama fan base as a whole is low.

No doubt about that, it's just odd that Bama fans seem to make it as headlines.
Edit: the guy in Pennsylvania wasn't a pedophile, he was a teacher that passed out high on heroin while in class. My mistake.

Honest question because I am no computer expert but I always thought they could look up your computers address and see what you've searched from the other side? I thought some of that was what the NSA has been able to save. Or is it literally your computer that is the only source of information? As in Lois Lerners missing emails, are they really gone or can they look it up on some database?
You can pull Internet history in many ways. Some companies have software that tracks every keystroke and grabs an image of your screen every x number of seconds, so they can see everything you can do. Also, there are the logs on your computer, but also logs at your ISP, as well as the destination sites. A lot of the really bad sites are hosted outside the US, so the chances of ever getting server logs are close to zero. However, Comcast, AT&T, etc. can be hit with a subpoena for your Internet usage at any time.
The IRS story, as I understand it, is that the emails were kept on the mail server only until downloaded. Once you checked your email, it was pulled to your computer and removed from the server. The servers got backed up daily, or even more often, but the backups were only kept for a small period of time. Lerner's computer crashed and had to be reformatted, so all of the emails stored locally got lost, and whoever did the repair neglected to back up her data before the reformat.
I have done some work for the CDC, and they use an Exchange server for email. Outlook will synch with it and download the emails to your computer, but there is a copy maintained on the server until it is deleted by the user. This allows you to log in via a webmail application and see your email exactly as you would from your computer.

His dad is a very well respected long time Scout poster. One of the best I ever interacted with. If you ever went over there in the past...his username is DocSolomon. His real name is Roscoe Harris. Don't believe his son was a poster.
When it first happened, DocSolomon announced to the board that it was his grandchild who died and asked for prayers and support. He obviously had no idea at that early stage. After some info started coming out in the first two days shedding a suspicious light on his son, he posted a video where he was showing Ross loving his son and playing with him,etc.. His last post , with the video, was on 6-23. He obviously still had no idea that his son actually murdered his grandson.
He hasn't posted since. I am sure that somewhere over the last 9 days and as the evidence mounted against his son, he has had to reconcile to his mind that his son , most likely, murdered his grandson.

Somebody should get this info to the IRS.

I use to run an exchange server like the IRS and wrote a post on the tech board on how it would most likely take 8 simultaneous hard drives to fail to lose one email. Absolutely not likely.
