Which Hank you talking about? Cause Sr. could straight up sing like nobody's business.

Sr. I don't care for his voice, too whiney, but as a songwriter, second to none. Not many equal him.

Cash, only because of longivity. Had Hank lived on there is no telling what he would have put out

I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry is the best country song ever. Top 5 of any genre.

It is definitely one of my favorites. I also really like "I heard that lonesome whistle blow" almost as much. He has so many good ones and his lyrics and sound are straightforward and awesome.

Same song?

Hank was a much more talented writer. What he wrote in a small time was very impressive. Gotta go Hank here

Sr
Jr
Cash

People hating on Jr. need to go listen to his friends album before he Fell off the mountain. Some great music. His voice before his fall was really good. 1975-79 hank was gold but his daddy is the GOAT. Cash is 2b in my imo.

I've always wondered what songs Sr would have graced us with if he wouldn't have died at such a young age.

Don Williams never gets enough love. Not as good as Cash, but he's great.

Cash. Hank tends to get on my nerves because he sounds too "honky tonk" for my liking.

Let's be honest, if Johnny hadn't done that horrendous version of "Hurt" or had his name in that redneck guido Jason Aldean's song most young people wouldn't know who he was. It's become kind of chic and trendy nowadays to proclaim Cash's greatness*.

Not saying he wasn't, but as far as influential country artists go: Hank, Sr >>> The Man in Black

*I'm a Cash fan. But Hank, Sr is most likely the most influential modern country artist.
