I've never needed customer service for Comcast.

I think you have it backwards as well. Comcast costs more the Uverse. You pay more for a better product though.

Just wait.

Comcast's tiers are higher priced but the speeds are double, triple, and higher than what you get for similar prices w/ AT&T. DSL can only go so fast... I do a lot of work online and stream movies, tv, etc so DSL (3mbps, 6mbps) doesn't really cut it for me.

"Better" in a relative sense, perhaps. Still an awful product from possibly the worst corporation in the country.

I've had comcast the past 5 years and moved 3 times. I've had to call Customer Service once to get things ironed out, but it hasn't been bad by any means and they'll always throw some free shite my way or lower my bill for a few months if there are any hiccups. Not a bad company IMO.

First six months I had them I had issues with the box. The other 2 1/2 years has been fine.

It's not just me. Comcast routinely is listed at the top of lists of companies w/ awful service. In fact, they're sort of the avatar for awful service at this point.

The cable industry is a/b as clear a case of market failure as you're likely to find. They have little incentive to offer better service and their profits continue to climb despite a dwindling customer base.

My most recent experience, two months ago: ordered self-install kit and they send wrong equipment, ask for a tech to come out and he never shows, ask again and he doesn't show, first bill arrives for service I don't have yet + two tech visits that haven't happened, tech finally shows and fixes everything and assures me no charge and that bill will be prorated, next bill arrives w/ a third service charge and no pro-rating, spend hours on phone disputing whether techs actually showed, promised a credit for my troubles, next bill arrives w/ overdue charges for tech "visits" plus no credit, Comcast disputes credit and tech visits (hours on phone again), finally chat w/ online rep who takes care of everything, two days later service craps out.

Thus, this is why I switched to Cox. I get better service and speed from them at a lower price compared to the shitty Uverse I used to have.
