Go to the site Best Gore.com. On that site you'll see the beheadings of the two American reporters who were beheaded last week or the week before. I really don't understand the Muslim religion. They seem to have an internal conflictwhile trying to destroy the west. Somebody once told me that Mohammend was really the devil in human form on earth.

All religions have vastly different interpretations of the same text.
Heck, our own Constitution does.
Aren't enough qualifiers in the world.

I hope we use one of those helicopters we have over there to extract this guy's entire family and bring them to somewhere nice and fairly tolerant with a decent economy and low cost of living.

Not answering for him, but it's really not that difficult. They started after the rise of the "arab spring" which the dear leader vehemently supported. This led to the rebels in Syria trying to out Urban Meyer, er I mean Assad. The DL even stated in his UN speech that "Asaad must go." The US then started funneling weapons and money to the rebels to help them overthrow Meyer. ISIS is a direct result of the rise of the rebellion in Syria.

ISIS has been around for well over 10 years

The vacuum created in Syria is what emboldened them to grow into what they are now.

Sadly, the US is greatly responsible for their growth. Our ME policy sux and it's ALL driven by our failure to have a long term energy plan. Pure and simple, no if's, an's or but's about it.

I would personally like to see a group of Special Forces and CIA groups specializing in terrorism tatics go spend some time in Iraq and Syria and let them loose. No rules. If our enemy does not use the "rules of war" then we shouldn't either. I would be willing to bet that Green Berets, Seals, Delta, Rangers and the CIA could handle business pretty quick if they had the chance.

They technically started as a defending force with Al-Qaeda in Iraq. No where near the Arab Spring.

This is starting to get very indirect.

This is true.

We started to funnel toward certain rebels like the completely secular FSA.
You're conflating them with Al-Nusra (Al-Qaeda led) and ISIL (Islamic State). Neither of which have we directly supported. We support FSA, period, who is non-sectarian and is secular.

ISIS has been around longer than Syria, but that was when they started the "Islamic State" nonsense.
If that's us creating ISIS I think there needs to be, as I said, some serious qualifiers used.
The FSA tried to overthrow Assad without political reasoning, it had nothing to do with the Arab Spring -- more that the guy is a jerk.

If this is accurate, why did Obama waive the Arms Export Control Act of 1976 a year ago when sending aid to Syrian rebels?

Which Syrian rebels?
EDIT for more emphasis: You understand the FSA and ISIL hate each other and routinely kill each other, right? Even though they both want to destroy the Syrian government, right?
You understand that backing one group is not the same as backing every group, right?
Second Addendum: I have to go to work, I'll be back later, man. Take care.

That's the question. If Obama was not sending aid to terrorist groups, why would he waive that portion of the act for that bloc of aid?

He's sending aid to the FSA who shares a similar interest with al-Nusra (but is not directly aligned with), I think anyone can see that this is just an attempt to cover bases. When the fighting first started al-Nusra was a minor player and evolved into "Al-Qaeda in Syria" as time went on.
Since then, clearly we've only supported one group (FSA) but can't confirm if they're the only ones with the weapons.
I get the anti-Obama slant, but there's no conspiracy here...as much as some people in this thread would love there to be one.
