In addition to everything that has been said, DC gets I think 3 electoral votes

The vatican is its own country. I never heard that London was independent. Independent of what? Especially since the Government offices and Parliment are actually in the city of Westminster.

Consider this: there are 45 states, 4 commonwealths (Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia), 1 republic (California), and 1 district (Columbia) in the United States.

Edit: corrected spelling error

But it actually is.

It was created as a separate district to prevent a single states claim on the national capitol.

It is its own district, providing 3 electoral votes. They have a shadow representative in the House. (a voice but not a vote).

Just because you aren't a state doesn't mean you are not a part of the US. All of these places are a part of the United States and its citizens are Americans:

Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Marina Islands, US Virgin Islands, and American Samoa (although American Samoa is a particular case, but still american).

These territories provide AMERICANS for the US Military, and host some of the most successful recruiting stations in the country.

The voting status is very messed up for these US territories, but that is for another debate.

No. It's not. And virtually nothing that happens there is in the interests of the country.

Actually there is a funny fact here. Most school books teach that Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel while in fact Jerusalem is. LINK

Refer above to my previous post.

The answer to everyone is YES. DC is a part of the United States of America.

No. The flag of Washington DC is based upon George Washington's family coat of arms.

So then their votes don't really count in an election. I hope you're not this retarded

Nobody here is saying it's part of a state, but you are trying to denote it being part of our country.

U dum

Actually I'm not saying that it not being a state is what makes it not a part of the U.S., at least not entirely. So yeah.

We'll get into legal name fraud and how this relates when I feel like enough time can be given.

Let's assume the capitalization thing you're likely going to refer to is a real thing.

Who granted the rights and freedoms to the aforementioned THE UNITED STATES?
