It's the shock factor mostly. That and everyone being desensitized to "regular" murders after seeing 3-4 new ones mentioned on the news every single night.

Not since the early 90's anyway.

Legalizing prostitution would end this, imo.

So you're saying women don't get raped in Nevada?

I still don't see where you are coming from. Are you saying drivebys targeting non-gang members and non-drug dealers is commonplace?

And I have family on the West Bank. I can promise you there is plenty of crime in urban areas that is not gang vs gang.

Initiations, robberies and rape come to mind.

Are you saying prostitution is legal throughout the state of Nevada?

Then excuse me, Vegas.

The ideal still stands though. Legalizing prostitution isn't going to get rid of rape. There are a lot of other factors that contribute to rape than just the availability of pussy.

With initiations it's commonplace to murder a civilian. Or to rape and murder. Or to rob someone in their own home or place of business and murder them. It's not "occasional", it happens everyday.

Chicago had a well known project that was known to snipe civilians walking down the road after dark. That's one exanple.

Drivebys killing non-gang members is commonplace.

But really, haven't all of these kids been on some kind of strong psychotropic drugs?

Not usually at the time, but yes many had been on psychiatric medications at some point in their lives. This would stand to reason, given that those who carry out mass murders are exponentially more likely to have psychiatric disorders than the gen pop.

The issue is the underlying disorder, not the pills. The psychiatric disorder is a very obvious confounding variable.

Intentionally?

Gang bangers drive by groups of civilians blasting away at one, two or three guys with no regard at who else will be injured. Innocent people are killed by AA much more than "occasionally."

I don't think it makes sense to categorically dismiss the pills influence. Did the shooters discontinue meds suddenly? Were they regularly seeing a doctor or did an internist prescribe them 3 different drugs and send them on their way?

I wouldn't be surprised at all that more than a few of them had suddenly discontinued their psych meds.

I'm not sure why this matters for the purpose of this discussion.

It has been shown to significantly reduce rape occurrences though.

Of course you dont dismiss the pills influence, but you cant logically blame the pills. Discontinuing meds keeping you stable is a bad idea.

Right. I wasn't blaming the pills. But their (mis)use could be a contributing factor. That could be important to know.

I've had friends stop taking Cymbalta cold turkey and they wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.

Yes. It's about the demographics of mass killers.

Gang initiations against civilians are commonplace and intentional. Rape and murder is highest in AA communities.

shite like this is more common than people think.
