Today is our 33rd anniversary. Still playing house and trying to hide the salami.

I'm 27 and just had my first kid, it definitely is surreal when I think about it. Just to think back on how OLD someone my age seemed when I was in grade school and now realize that I still have the mindset of a child

Back during my residency, I distinctly recall devouring 2 ice cream sandwiches for my breakfast as I was speeding into work early one morning to cover the SICU.

And I thought to myself, "Im not mature enough to be doing this."

It seems like yesterday that I was getting hammered-drunk in my fraternity house with my dumbass buddies. A good portion of us have been cops for 20 years now. I've been married for 16 years and have a daughter in high school. WTF happened?

3, buried my dad today and it was strange seeing relatives with families and I last saw them as children. It flies by, people waste their lives trying to fit into a mold.

So sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss Roger.

Was the funeral in Alaska or did you come down to the lower 48?

I'm 33.. I've really noticed time speeding up since my wife and I have had kids

Arkansas. Flew into Dallas, rented a car. Just got back today.

It goes so fast. I did get to meet my grandson who I had never seen before. Seems you spend life waking up, going to work, repeat, repeat...and times just gone

I think my dad was a lot like me. Never really found his niche in life, did a lot of different things and tried his best to be a "grown up" though I think he struggled with the whole concept.

Maybe most of us really don't have a niche in life. We just find something to do that earns a decent wage until it's too late to realize life slipped by in the process.
