They were testing the fences for weaknesses, systematically. They remember.

I tend to give less of a shite as long as I've got her pussy on lock.

Sounds crude, but even as much as I love debating, I prefer things running smoothly even more.

I'll stop short of saying she's right, but I have no problem dropping my case. No chance for an argument at that point. And a lot of times when it comes to quibbles over insignificant shite, they're not in the mood to admit they're wrong even if you make an airtight case. Why waste the oxygen/emotion over it?

Of course this all sounds well and good as I type it, but SOs know how to push the right buttons to keep one rising to the bait, too

With my ex, I had some absolutely retarded arguments in which there is no feasible way she could actually be right.

I've learned my lesson: Go to the OT and vent here, then let it go for good.

God Damn it ALL....

If preventing her bitching is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing in your life then you're married (and in love) and hooked for life. And you should let her "win" everything"

If her bitching is driving you fricking nuts (in which case you're of the other side on the aforementioned, for there is no middle group) then break up with, divorce, and/or kill her arse (quietly) and be done with her (stankin' arse) arse.

It really is simple.

Latinas say and do the stupidest things when they're mad.

I remember her "tomatoes are bad for you" fight. At least this one is a common misconception amongst Spanish speakers.

I think you live a lot longer if you fight about things that matter. And I should say: We were joking the whole time, this isn't actually like a knockdown drag out brawl where we left angry.

This is not true. I heard that most major languages have 200,000 words, but English has around 650,000. Basically all the other languages are going extinct because they refuse to adapt to modern changes; meanwhile English takes in new words from other languages and continues to grow as the world's premier language.

You will learn very quickly that if you want all to be well in the relationship that sometimes the man has to apologize for things that he did not do wrong.

A lot of factors go into when you should debate, and when you should just let them continue with delusion -- especially if it's delusion that doesn't hurt anyone.

Agreed. You're a smart guy.

Indeed this is true. For the most part. I say for the most part because it largely depends on what you mean by "word" as I explained before.

If we count ONLY the roots in English, for instance, the amount can be dropped significantly. That is what a lot of Spanish speakers try to do while simultaneously counting conjugations.

I saw one person arguing against compound words like "typewriter" which in Spanish would be something like "machine of typing", wherein the two words exist already and can't be counted again.

I have no idea why their cultural pride is so superfluous and why it's difficult for them to just admit/understand that English has ALSO traveled all over the world. You touched on loan words (we use tons) but it's a global language. Spanish is not. It's been secluded to two continents (and Spain) and is very slow to embrace other cultures.

That's why I fricking hate listening to them use French words -- like "driver" (chofer) we traditionally say it closer to its normal pronunciation from the French (chauffeur) -- they say it choh-fer. Literally pronounce the CH hard.

Same when they pronounce the t in ballet. Holy frick this bothers me. They say literally ballet and not "ballay".

Anyway, frick Spanish, frick Mexico. All that.

Oh shite sorry.

English: Has many compound words, loan words and applies many suffixes and prefixes to words.

Spanish: Has many conjugations (variations of words), but fewer (far) root words.

Well, English has long borrowed words from other languages, so it continues to evolve--to the point that there are now a countless number of grammatical rules and pronounciations in English that don't exist in other languages. Meanwhile, on the contrary, most words in other languages are simply pronounced as spelled and the grammatical rules have very few exceptions.

That said, at present all languages are in the process of merging into one single unitary super-language. When something new is invented, i.e., "e-mail," then all languages just adopt the word "e-mail" rather than invent a new word in their language to describe it.
