When I was a kid, and this is a history lesson for you, women who didn't want to smoke or smell like smoke tooted snuff. Peach flavor was the big snuff of the day. You tooted it like coke, got the same high.

Women used to live a lot longer in those days too.

Now, quickly, a history lesson about true snuff.

Snuff was, in those days, a very very fine power almost like talcum powder. You tapped a little out on your hand and snorted it. Women used their long fingernails to dip it from their little leather designer pouches.

This is peach country. We grow more peaches here in SC than does Georgia.

When I was a kid I used to ride my bike to the local roadside gas station about six miles from my house and buy my great grandmother a can of peach snuff exactly like this one for 10 cents.

It was about the size of a modern day spice jar and it would last her about three weeks if I was lucky. She tooted more in the winter than she did in the summer. The men used it too but only when drinking the peach moonshine.
