1. Have an hour or more for any download.

2. Save to 3.5 floppy and label as something along the lines of B52 Invasion.

Because it ain't worth $1200.00 f*cking dollars a year is what I am going to tell them (after the national championship game tonight.) For real, other than the Razorback games and a few other selected games, I won't miss satellite tv a bit. I can always find somewhere to watch any game I really want to, I can get 20 or so free over air network (major and minor) channels with my digital antenna, have Netflix and can get other internet programming if I desire...

We're actually switching to direct for a year. The promo is pretty good at $25 for one year and $50 the next year for a plan that costs $90+ with Dish. My final straw was when my box died and they charged to replace it and wouldn't upgrade to the hopper (sans $200) service. I know too many people that got those for free. And we've added two TVs and Dish wouldn't give Joeys to them but wanted to charge a few hundred to run cables since they wouldn't give us a hopper.

I'm almost ready to go straight Roku streaming for everything but it's just not quite there yet. The addition of ESPN might get it there though.

I've had DirecTV since they began. No issues.

worst customer service of any business on planet earth. I'd almost take rabbit ears and tin foil but I'd only be screwing myself.

Told the wife they'd lower the monthly rate, didn't lower it, called to follow up, told her she was a liar and a thief, put her on hold three times, hung up on her, called back, said they would research the claim for a lower payment, held for 45 minutes...hung up on her again, on and on and on.

If I thought it would matter to them I'd trash them on social media every day but they truly don't give a schit about customer service so why bother?

Can't switch to directv because of the neighbor's rain-forest'esq tree foliage, uverse doesn't have the fiber optics/nodes on our street? My neighbor 30 yards away, uverse all day...

Spinoff:

I'm going to give you a scenario:

I work from home. Not like i dink around and work when things come up and take phone calls, i'm in my office for probably 9+ hours a day solid. I go to the gym after i either get the kids ready and she takes them or after i drop them off.

I get back about 7:55 AM from this, immediately go up to my office and work at 8. This is the schedule every week and my wife knows it. if i can, i come down and clean around lunch time, but i don't spend any time in the house at all.

All this to say, is it my fault she left underwear on the floor and the cable guy saw it? Because she's under the impression that i should have scanned the room and cleaned up. I'm under the impression she knew somebody was coming over and she should clean up after herself.

ETA: DirectTV is 11ty billion times better than dish in everything except for the remote layout. frick dish.

We've had Direct for 10 years and I've always hated it. Until we just upgraded to the genie and mini's in every room. Now I love that shite.
