Good thing about MechE, there really isn't a field I can't go into. I'm the jack-of-all-trades Engineer.

Correct in a lot of ways, but in a lot of way a lack of specialization is a bad thing unless you don't get complacent. My mentor in my company(right out side of the fortune 100) was a mechanical engineer at A&M who grew up in an oil field family that did what you did for that very reason he didn't want to feel pigeon holed. Well he ends up at an oilfield service company anyway, his degree helped him get a variety of training, and he was a Senior VP before he was 40. Now, obviously he's a special case, and most people never dream of that kind of success but he tells me he sort of wish he went back and was petroleum the whole time. I look at his career path and think hell, maybe I should have double majored in mechanical. The grass is always greener I guess.

My grandpa took me to visit Baylor. He told me I should think about it. He was still mad at Catholic church. When he found out you had to take bible class he said forget that.

I like how people think Duke isn't affiliated with religion.

Baylor is a wretched hive of scum and filth--it is laughable that bible class is mandatory

My dad said he has no issue with me going into the oil field, he just didn't want me to be a PE. Same shite.

I'm not sure if I want to go into the oil field, but I'm not going to close any doors this early. Options never hurt.

i still have no idea why fox, ESPN, etc have these "rules consultants" when they are only used once or twice a week

Speaking of which, did any "rules" expert comment on the JFF horsecollar in the auburn game?

I was too busy being sick to my stomach to pay attention to the announcers

they definitely missed the call, but game shouldnt have come down to that. we had too many chances to put them away that we didnt cash in on. this loss makes me sick. too many blown opportunities on a weekend where we had enough teams lose for us to get back in the NC hunt

Would anyone be willing to change crib sheets tonight?

MJ has puked on them 3 times now. So mama in her wisdom has told me he's sleeping in our bed.

Guess who won't be sleepin in the bed tonight?

I wouldn't close the door on it simply from the fact that in two years you can have the words "operational field experience" on your resume. It's so valuable, even beyond e&p or service companies, you have no idea.

That's what burns me up the most (and that's exactly what I was telling some of our knucklehead fans who wanted to blame the call for the loss).

Every season there's one of these "calamity Saturdays" when you HAVE to step up and take advantage. Had no excuse not to, and screwed the pooch. Easy to say "if only JFF hadn't gotten hurt," but there was still no excuse for Joeckel to come in and be so fricking inept. Missed a touchdown throw that I would have made 9 times out of 10.

And then our _efense happened.
