I would submit that DCB is the greatest band in the last 10 years that the majority of the populace has never heard of, regardless of genre of music.

Oh How He Loves
After All
God of Wrath
Glory of it All
O Praise Him
Church Music
Wholly Yours

And his cover of Wagon Wheel.

I agree.

Add "Foreverandever Etc." to that list, too.

Staunch, old school, Lutheran here so my post carries a lot more wisdom and weight in this thread than most others.

Depends on what I'm in the mood for. As for traditional rap artists, I like:

"Open Letter" - KB
"Invasion" - Trip Lee
"Messengers", "Background" and "Tell the World" - Lecrae
Almost every Andy Mineo Cypher

Traditional Worship Artists:
"Blessed Be Your Name" - Matt Redman
"Oceans", "Surrender", "You'll Come", and "Stronger" - Hillsong
"Amazing Grace (My Chains are gone)" - Chris Tomlin
"Christ is Risen" - Matt Maher
"How He Loves" - David Crowder Band

One of many many great scenes in one of my all-time top ten favorite movies. Made Harry Dean Stanton famous.

Yeah I wish there was a full recording of that version.

Here is the other version I mentioned that's similar.

"Just As I Am"

Yeah I'm an old schooler too. For those that don't or didn't like the church they either attend or attended growing up, keep looking; you'll find one.

I cling to faith in Christ (albeit an increasingly progressive one that has put me at odds with the traditions of my youth) but the older I get, the less plausible it all seems.

Derek Webb is my jam.

I like your thinking. Contemporary church is mostly a beating. I hate it.

They're the hipsters of churches. As a rule, they avoid actual purpose-built church buildings like the plague. They have to be held in a warehouse, or a former garage, a bar, a theatre, or some amorphous campus building built to resemble one of the above.

Tradition. We needs them.

My three are

He's Alive--Dolly Parton Live at CMA's

Stomp--Kirk Franklin w/God's Propert

Monday Morning Church--Alan Jackson

It's hard for me to get into hymns growing up Catholic and mama being Baptist. I like structure of Catholicism but she can't handle it.
