If you could pick a teacher for the subjects of:

Mathematics
Science (pick 2)
History
Philosophy
Literature
Economics

From any time period of the world and assume everyone speaks English, who would you pick?

Mine:
Math: Euler
Science: Planck and Tesla

Philosophy: Hume
Literature: Goethe

Math--pythagoras

History--Joseph Campbell
Philosophy--Kant
Literature--William Faulkner
Economics--Keynes

This was very thought-provoking but not easy to compile.

After a little more thought, I think I'm switching Darwin out with Tesla

If I could study under Tesla I don't think I would care about any of the others.

Philosophy--Kant
Kant is the worst influence on modern thinking bar none.

Warren Buffet or Bill Gates should be obvious answers.

*i didn't include a philosopher because I would be fired for sleeping.

History - Thomas Jefferson
Philosophy - FDR, specifically politics in rebuilding a country during the great depression and dealing with WW2 at the same time.
Literature - Henry David Thoreau. #Walden
Economics - staying with FDR on this one.

I was close to picking Thoreau or Emerson for literature. FDR for economics? Maybe rhetoric or something like that.

I wasnt sure who to pick there so i left it at FDR. my reasoning behind picking him included a combination of economics and philosophy. it was a hard choice but i have always been intrigued by his presidency. Maybe i am a sucker for stories that involve rising from the ashes to become a super hero who knows. all i know is that was a really shitty point in time, he lead us through it, and i would love to pick his brain about it. as far as Thoreau or Emerson goes,Transcendentalism was one of my favorite topics in literature. they were so "out there" at the time but looking back they really make some good points as far as life in general is concerned

Friedman is a good choice. I didn't pick Einstein because I don't think I could understand a damn thing he'd try to teach me.
